What to do if my Jet VBS-2012 machine will not start?
    • K
      Kelly SmithNov 21, 2025
If your Jet Saw doesn't start, first, ensure it's properly connected to a power source and that the START button is fully engaged, while the STOP button is disengaged. Check for any damage to the cord and replace it if necessary. If the overload automatic reset has tripped, allow the unit to cool down completely before attempting to restart. If the issue persists, verify the amp setting on the motor starter. Also, verify that the saw is on a correctly sized circuit. If the circuit size is correct, there is probably a loose electrical lead. If you have access to a voltmeter, you can separate a starter failure from a motor failure by first, verifying incoming voltage at 220+/-10% and second, checking the voltage between starter and motor at 220+/-10%. If incoming voltage is incorrect, you ha...

Why are my Jet Saw cuts not straight?
    • H
      hayleygilbertAug 26, 2025
If your Jet Saw is not cutting straight, it could be due to several reasons. The blade tooth might have an improper set, in which case you should file it to the proper set or replace the blade. Inadequate blade tension could also be the cause, so try increasing the tension. Ensure the guide post isn't too high; set it closer to the workpiece. Also, a feed rate that's too strong can cause this issue, so decrease the feed rate.

What to do if the Jet VBS-2012 Saw blade slips off the wheel?
    • E
      Elizabeth Johnson MDAug 27, 2025
If the blade on your Jet Saw keeps slipping off the wheel, it might be due to inadequate blade tension. Try increasing the tension. If that doesn't solve the problem, the wheels may not be aligned properly.

How to fix a warped blade on Jet VBS-2012 Saw?
    • A
      audrey76Aug 27, 2025
If your Jet Saw blade is warping, it could be due to a dull blade, so try sharpening or replacing it. Ensure the guide post is properly fixed in position. Insufficient blade tension can also cause warping, so increase the tension. Additionally, check that the blade is at a 90° angle to the table and adjust the table if necessary.

Why is my Jet Band Saw noisy or vibrating too much?
    • A
      acarterAug 29, 2025
If your Jet Band Saw is excessively noisy or vibrating, ensure it is resting on a level surface. The floor must be flat. A damaged variable speed pulley could also be the cause, so consider replacing the pulley.

Why doesn't annealing occur when I push the annealing button on my Jet VBS-2012?
    • D
      Daniel NavarroSep 23, 2025
If annealing doesn’t occur when you push the annealing button on your Jet Saw, the annealing switch connection might be poor, so replace the annealing switch. Also, the fuse could be blown, so replace the fuse.

Why is my Jet VBS-2012 weld misaligned, with blade ends overlapped?
    • R
      Robert KirbySep 17, 2025
If your Jet Saw has a misaligned weld where the blade ends are overlapped, the pressure knob might be set for a wider blade than the one being used, so adjust the pressure knob correctly for the particular blade width. Also, the blade ends or clamp jaws might not be aligned correctly, so make corrections as needed.

Why couldn't a weld be made on my Jet VBS-2012, and the jaws don't move?
    • A
      Andrea RomanSep 18, 2025
If a weld could not be made on your Jet Saw and the jaws do not move, there might be a poor wire connection or a bad connecting point on the welding switch, so change the switch or grind the connecting port with a file. The transformer could also be burned out, so change or rewire it. Additionally, the blade might have oil or rust on it, so wipe off any oil or grind off the rust.

Why is my Jet VBS-2012 Saw weld misaligned?
    • C
      Courtney FrazierSep 8, 2025
A misaligned weld on your Jet Saw can occur due to dirt or scale on the clamp jaws or blade, so always keep the jaws clean and clean the blade before welding. It may also be caused by blade ends not being square, so before welding, grind the cut edges of the blade until they are square. Ensure the blade ends are correctly aligned when clamped in the jaws. Worn clamp jaws or clamp jaws not aligned correctly can also lead to misalignment, so replace or align the clamp jaws as needed.

Why doesn't my Jet Band Saw come up to speed?
    • D
      Devin HurstSep 5, 2025
If your Jet Band Saw is not reaching its full speed, the extension cord might be too light or too long, so replace it with an adequate size and length cord.
