Questions and Answers

Why is my Jet VBS-2012 Saw weld misaligned?
    • C
      Courtney FrazierSep 8, 2025
A misaligned weld on your Jet Saw can occur due to dirt or scale on the clamp jaws or blade, so always keep the jaws clean and clean the blade before welding. It may also be caused by blade ends not being square, so before welding, grind the cut edges of the blade until they are square. Ensure the blade ends are correctly aligned when clamped in the jaws. Worn clamp jaws or clamp jaws not aligned correctly can also lead to misalignment, so replace or align the clamp jaws as needed.

Why is my Jet Saw blade dull so quickly?
    • S
      Sergio EvansAug 23, 2025
A Jet Saw blade may dull quickly if the blade speed is too fast, so try using a slower speed. It could also be that you're using the wrong blade for the material, so ensure you're using the proper blade for the workpiece. An excessive feed rate can also cause this issue, so decrease the feed rate.

Why doesn't my Jet Band Saw come up to speed?
    • D
      Devin HurstSep 5, 2025
If your Jet Band Saw is not reaching its full speed, the extension cord might be too light or too long, so replace it with an adequate size and length cord.
  • T
    Tonya SmithSep 4, 2025
Why is my Jet Saw blade twisted?
    • J
      Jennifer VargasSep 4, 2025
A Jet Saw blade can twist if it has been improperly welded. The blade may also be twisted if it was not installed properly, in this case, set guide inserts closer, and increase blade tension. If you are feeding the workpiece too forcefully, decrease the feed rate. Finally, the blade may be twisted because of an incorrect choice of blade, so use proper width blade for radius or wavy line cutting.

Why is my Jet VBS-2012 Saw blade becoming damaged easily?
    • M
      Michelle StevensSep 2, 2025
A Jet Saw blade can become damaged easily if it has been over-annealed, so decrease the annealing temperature. Too large a gap between the blade guides and the blade can also cause damage, so adjust the gap accordingly. Also, a blade that is too wide for short radius cutting can be problematic, so select a narrower blade appropriate for the job.

Why does the weld break when I use my Jet VBS-2012 Saw?
    • B
      bonillabrandonSep 1, 2025
If the weld on your Jet Saw blade breaks during use, it could be because the weld is weak and incomplete, potentially with blow holes. In this case, cut and re-weld the blade ends. Another reason could be that the weld has been ground too thin, so again, cut and re-weld the blade ends. Finally, the weld might have been incorrectly annealed.

What causes Jet VBS-2012 blade teeth to keep breaking?
    • J
      James RodgersAug 30, 2025
If the blade teeth on your Jet Saw keep breaking, it could be due to using the incorrect blade for the job, so select the proper blade pitch and style. It may also be caused by the blade being of inferior material, so use a better quality blade.

Why is my Jet Band Saw noisy or vibrating too much?
    • A
      acarterAug 29, 2025
If your Jet Band Saw is excessively noisy or vibrating, ensure it is resting on a level surface. The floor must be flat. A damaged variable speed pulley could also be the cause, so consider replacing the pulley.

How to fix a warped blade on Jet VBS-2012 Saw?
    • A
      audrey76Aug 27, 2025
If your Jet Saw blade is warping, it could be due to a dull blade, so try sharpening or replacing it. Ensure the guide post is properly fixed in position. Insufficient blade tension can also cause warping, so increase the tension. Additionally, check that the blade is at a 90° angle to the table and adjust the table if necessary.

What to do if the Jet VBS-2012 Saw blade slips off the wheel?
    • E
      Elizabeth Johnson MDAug 27, 2025
If the blade on your Jet Saw keeps slipping off the wheel, it might be due to inadequate blade tension. Try increasing the tension. If that doesn't solve the problem, the wheels may not be aligned properly.
