On the left-hand side of the banknote reader there is a set of dip switches which can
be used to change the operation of the banknote reader. Figure 1 shows normal MDB
operation.

Ë Normal MDB operation
Operation with switch 1 OFF.
if switch 4 is ON, the banknote reader will be set at high acceptance level, whereas if it
is OFF, the banknote reader will be set at high security level.
ËTests and programming
Operation with switch 1 ON.
To access banknote inhibition programming mode the switches should be configured
as follows: switches 1 and 4 ON, and switches 2 and 3 OFF. (Figure 2)
When you enter programming mode the 3 LEDs will blink 3 times.
To inhibit a banknote, insert it in the banknote reader. The red LED will blink twice to
show that the banknote has been inhibited or the green LED will blink twice to show
that the banknote has been enabled again.
To exit banknote inhibition programming mode return switches 1 and 4 to the OFF
position. You will then see that the LEDs blink three times to let you know that you
have exited banknote inhibition programming mode.
