The Johnson Controls® DP150 Series is a line of differential pressure transducers designed to sense differential pressure across a multi-sense range. These devices are factory-calibrated and tested to ensure performance across all specified pressure ranges. The DP150 is available in four versions, each offering field-selectable range capabilities via slide switches and jumpers. Pressure units can be displayed in inches of water column (in. WC) or Pascals (Pa).
Function Description
The DP150 transducer measures differential pressure, converting it into an electrical signal for control systems. It supports both unidirectional and bi-directional modes, as well as current (mA) or voltage (VDC) output ranges. The device features a removable terminal block for easy wiring and requires a shielded cable with both ends correctly grounded for CE compliance.

Usage Features
Mounting:
The DP150 should be mounted in a vertical position for optimal performance. While calibrated for wall or perpendicular surface mounting, other orientations may cause a slight zero shift, which can be corrected using the zero adjustment feature. The device is suitable for installation on ducts, walls, ceilings, and in control rooms. It is designed for use with air or nonconducting gases; use with liquids or corrosive gases will damage the unit.
Configuration and Setup:
- Wiring: Supports both 2-wire (current) and 3-wire (current or voltage) configurations.
- Range Selection: Users can select the appropriate full-scale pressure range using a slide switch multiplier and JMP4 jumper. The LCD indicates the selected range.
- Mode Selection: Allows selection between unidirectional and bi-directional modes, as well as current (mA) or voltage (VDC) output ranges (0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC).
- Sampling Filter: The device includes a sampling filter with four options: Normal (Nor), Slow (SLo), Fast (FAS), and Off. This filter helps manage noisy pressure environments by increasing the sample size for slower updates or reducing it for faster updates. The default setting is Normal.
- LCD Display: The LCD unit displays the pressure and toggles through existing setup parameters.
Calibration:
- Zero Adjustment: This feature allows recalibration of the unit in the field. With the unit at zero differential pressure, pressing and holding the Zero or Config button until "0" blinks will re-zero the unit. A "good" message indicates successful re-zeroing, while "bAd" indicates an unsuccessful attempt (typically if the pressure is more than ±10% off the factory setting).
- Span Adjustment: To perform span adjustment, a reference grade calibrator is required to apply positive full-scale differential pressure. The process involves entering the configuration menu, navigating to the "Set Span" setting, and confirming the adjustment. A "good" message confirms successful re-spanning, while "bAd" indicates an issue (e.g., re-zeroing pressure more than ±10% off the factory setting).
