8.1 Lamps replacing
Tungsten-halogen lamp
Switch off and unplug the equipment.
Remove the four screws from the spectrophotometer sides.
Remove the sample selection bar unscrewing counter clock.
Remove the equipment cover very carefully and place it to the right.
BE AWARE of not PULLING OUT the cable.
Unscrew the two lamp chamber screws and remove the cover.
Attention
The cover could be very hot, remember to use gloves!
Unplug and remove the lamp from the ceramic base (black connector). Insert the
new lamp, pushing as far as possible.
CAUTION:
1) Do not touch the lamp with bare ngers. Use a cloth to handle it.
2) There’s no polarity difference between both tungsten lamp pins.
Connect the equipment and adjust the lamp in order that the light beam focuses on
the monochromator inlet slot.
Unplug the equipment, cover again the lamp chamber and install the cover. Pay
attention not to pinch the cables during the process.
Deuterium lamp
Attention
Use UV protection glasses while changing the deuterium lamp!
Switch off and unplug the equipment.
Remove the four screws from the spectrophotometer sides.
Remove the sample selection bar unscrewing counter clock.
Remove the cover carefully and place it to the right of the equipment.
BE AWARE of not pulling out the PANEL with the cable.
