The JVC WIDE LCD PANEL TV is a television receiver capable of displaying both analogue terrestrial broadcasting (ATV: VHF/UHF) and digital terrestrial broadcasting (DTV: DVB-T). Usage Features

Initial Setup:

  • Channel Registration: Automatically registers DTV and ATV channels. Users can edit these channels later.
  • T-V LINK: Connects to compatible devices for automatic channel registration and "DIRECT REC" function.
  • ACI (Automatic Channel Installation): Supports automatic channel registration if an ACI signal is received from cable companies.
  • Pay-per-view: Allows watching pay-per-view content via a CAM (Conditional Access Module) and Viewing Card (purchased separately).

Basic Operations:

  • Power On/Off: Turns the TV on or off, with a green power lamp indicating operation.
  • Channel Selection: Selects ATV or DTV channels using numerical buttons or up/down controls. Favourite channels can be selected directly.
  • Volume Control: Adjusts sound volume.
  • Aspect Ratio: Changes the display aspect ratio (e.g., Auto, Regular, Panoramic, 14:9 Zoom, 16:9, Full).
  • 3D Cinema Sound: Enhances ambient sound with High, Low, Mono, or Off settings.
  • Snapshots: Takes still picture snapshots of the screen (not available for DTV, PC, or when sub-picture is displayed).
  • Subtitles: Displays DTV subtitles, with an option to turn them off.

DTV Specific Features:

  • EPG (Electronic Programme Guide): Views programme lists for up to 8 days, searches by genre, and reserves programmes for watching or recording.
  • Timer-record Setting: Sets timer recordings for DTV programmes, with options to specify start/end times, dates, and recurrence (Once/Daily/Weekly).
  • AV Settings: Changes subtitle languages, selects favourite channels, and upgrades tuner software.
  • PIN Code: Changes the PIN code for restricted access.

ATV Specific Features:

Multi-picture Mode:

  • Dual-picture Mode: Watches TV and video simultaneously (e.g., Main and Sub screens).
  • 12-screen Mode: Displays all registered ATV channels as still images.

Maintenance Features

  • Power Cord: Connects to a 220-240V, 50Hz AC outlet. If the plug is not the right shape or the cord is too short, use an appropriate plug adapter or extension cable. Do not cut or damage the power cord.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the LCD panel.
  • Ventilation: Ensure ample room around the unit to avoid overheating. Do not obstruct ventilation holes.
