i Disassembling the Cassette
Mechanism
Head mount assembly
m Head Mount Assembly (See Fig. 5- 39)
1. Remove the three screws (1) retaining the head mount a
assembly.
2. Remove the head wire holder from the chassis.
% Whenever the head mount has been changed, be sure tiéad ‘base
to adjust the head angle.
@ At the time of assembly, combine the gear section of
direction lever and the head mount gear as shown in
Fig. 5- 39. C a

@ Pinch Roller Assembly (See Fig. 5- 40)
Right side:
1. Open outward the pawl (A) retaining the pinch roller
assembly on the right side, and pull out the pinch roller
assembly.
@ Prior to assembly, make sure that the stud at the lower
part of the pinch roller has been inserted between the
direction lever and pinch roller spring.
Left side:
1. Pull out the pinch roller assembly on the left side
similarly as in the case of that on the right side.

2. By opening the three pawls for fixing the FM bracket the right side as shown in this diagram. _ the left side as shown in this diagram
outward, remove the bracket. Fig. 5-39
3. When the FM bracket has been raised, the capstan belt,

flywheei and so forth will be disassembled. At this time, the stud shouldbe incened
the reel belt will be caught between the flywheel and into the direction lever. Pinch roller assembly
main pulley. Therefore, remove the flywheel and pulley
by using a tool as appropriate to prevent any damage to
the reel belt. When the flywheel has been hooked to the
FM bracket, remove the flywheel together with the
bracket as it has been hooked.
@ Assembly metho
1. Attach the larger flywheel to the FM bracket as shown in
Fig. 5- 40/41.
. Hang the capstan belt.
. Attach the smaller flywheel (to the FM bracket).
4. Hang the reel belt on the mechanism assembly stud as
shown in Fig. 5-40 so carefully that the belt will not be
twisted.
5. After turning over the FM bracket upside down, insert
the capstan into the capstan metal.
6. Remove the reel belt from the stud and hang it onto the
flywheel (At this time, make sure that the belt is free from
twisting).
