Operating Instructions
Product Setup
The Camp requires minimal set up.(Fig. 11) For best
results, try out the Camp before first use and familiarise
yourself with its operation. Important: Before first use, flush
system by discarding approximately 2 litres (1/2 gallon) to
remove harmless ceramic dust.
Normal Operation
1) Make sure filter is properly tightened to the bag.
2) Fill bag with water. Make sure outlet hose is not
dropped in untreated water
3) Fold up end of bag and hang as high as possible. The
higher the better the flow rate.
Long Term Storage (After Your Trip is Over)
Store the Camp filter as follows:
1) Brush it under running water with the supplied
cleaning pad. (Fig. 12)
2) Allow to airdry completely. (Fig. 13)
3) Store Camp inside the transportation casing.
(Fig. 14)
Note: When removing unit from long term storage,
flush the system with 2 litres (1/2 gallon) of water to
Remove any stale tasting water.
Ceramic Capacity
Ceramic capacity depends on water quality. The dirtier the
water the more often you will have to clean the element.
This reduces the capacity of approx. 5’300 gallons (20’000
litres). If the gap of the measuring gage fits over the
ceramic it is time to replace the filter. (Figure 15). Inspect
the ceramic for cracks after cleaning, if you dropped the
filter or if you had freezing temperatures. If the filter shows
cracks it will no longer protect you from micro organisms.
