42 Quick Results Guide
If a consistent pulse period is not required for your test, you can use the 10A range to output
fast, high energy (>8% duty cycle) pulses. With pulse delay set to 0sec, each subsequent pulse
will output as soon as the capacitors become sufficiently charged.
Pulse Mode configuration
Select Pulse Mode, set pulse width and pulse delay
Use the following menu sequence to select the Pulse Mode:
Press CONFIG > press SOURCE V (or I) > select SHAPE > select PULSE
After PULSE is selected, use the following menu items to program pulse parameters:
DELAY - Use to set the pulse delay for the output off-time (0 to 9999.99900 sec).
PULSE WIDTH - Use to set the pulse width (0.15ms to 5.00ms). Note that pulse width will
internally limit to 2.5ms on the 10A range (source or measure).
Set pulse measurement speed
With the Pulse Mode selected, pulse measurement speed can be set from 0.004 to 0.1 PLC.
To set speed, press SPEED and enter the desired NPLC value.
Set pulse count
Arm count and trigger count determines how many pulses will be output. In general, pulse
count is the product of arm count and trigger count. If arm count is set to infinite, pulses will
output continuously. Note that the product of the finite count values cannot exceed 2500.
Arm count - Use the following menu sequence to set the arm count:
Press CONFIG > press TRIG > select ARM LAYER > select COUNT
After selecting COUNT, the following menu items are displayed:
FINITE - Use to set arm count to a finite value.
INFINITE - Use to set arm count to infinity.
Trigger count - Use the following menu sequence to set the trigger count:
Press CONFIG > press TRIG > select TRIG LAYER > select COUNT > set TRIG COUNT
Enable/disable auto zero
Use the following menu sequence to enable or disable auto zero:
Press MENU > select A/D CTRL > select AUTO ZERO > select DISABLE or ENABLE
