What to do if my Kenmore 253.76125 will not operate?

If your Kenmore Air Conditioner won't turn on, first ensure the power cord is firmly plugged into a working outlet. Check if a fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped, and replace the fuse with a time-delay type or reset the breaker. Make sure the unit is turned on by pressing the ON/OFF button. Also, verify that the temperature setting is not warmer than the room temperature and that the timer hasn't shut the unit off. If the touch pad and remote are unresponsive, unplug the unit for 10 seconds to reset the controls. Finally, if the power cord has tripped, press the RESET button on the plug head.
