5-9 OPERATION
WARMING UP
z Hydraulic oil serves as transmission
fluid to protect and lubricate mov-
ing parts.
This fluid is also circulated through
out the hydraulic circuit to operate
functions like steering, three point
hitch, and remote functions.
In cold weather, the oil will be cold
with increased viscosity. This can
cause delayed oil circulation or ab-
normally low hydraulic pressure for
some time after engine start-up.
This in turn can result in trouble to
the hydraulic system. To prevent the
above, observe the following
instructions:
z Warm up the engine at a high idle
according to the table below:
WARM-UP AND TRANSMISSION OIL
IN THE LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE
After starting your tractor's engine al-
low five minute warm up period before
applying any load to the tractor. If a
load is applied to the tractor before it
has time to warm up, serious damage,
such as can occur premature wear,
breakage, or seizure.

z During warm up of the engine,
be sure that the parking brake
is set.

z During warm up of the engine,
make sure that all shift levers
are in the neutral position.

der full load condition until it is
sufficiently warmed up.
