  Air leakage in plastic bags after vacuum packaging can occur due to several reasons. Sharp objects within the bag may puncture it; in this case, remove the sharp objects and replace the bag. The bag itself might have leaks, necessitating a replacement. Also, liquid in the bag being sucked out during vacuuming can compromise the seal. Avoid vacuuming liquid foods, and use the appropriate mode when vacuuming meat.

  If the vacuum pump is running but not creating a vacuum, ensure the cover is securely fastened by pressing down on both sides until you hear a 'click'. Check the bag for leaks by trying with a different bag. Inspect the sealing ring for looseness, deformation or foreign matter; replace or clean it as necessary. Ensure food in the bag is at least 1.5 inches away from the lid. If the bag is too thick, switch to a thinner one or firmly close the cover. Make sure that the mouth of the bag fits directly over the vacuum drip tank.

  If your appliance seals automatically before vacuuming, the issue may be with the bag. Ensure you are using a special textured vacuum bag; using the original plastic bag is recommended. If you are using a textured bag, the texture indentations might be too shallow. Try switching to another batch of plastic bags.
