Function Description

The KitchenAid Microwave Oven is designed for heating, cooking, and drying food using microwave energy. A magnetron within the oven produces microwaves that reflect off the metal interior surfaces and pass through the turntable and appropriate cookware to the food. These microwaves are absorbed by fat, sugar, and water molecules in the food, causing them to move, producing friction and heat, which cooks the food. The oven is specifically designed for domestic use and is not intended for industrial or laboratory applications. It features various cooking modes, including manual cooking, staged cooking, and sensor cooking, to accommodate a wide range of food types and preparation needs. The oven also includes defrosting functions, both by weight and by time, to safely thaw frozen foods.

Usage Features

• Microwave Oven Cavity: To prevent damage, abrasive cleaners, steel-wool pads, or gritty washcloths should not be used. For stainless steel models, rubbing in the direction of the grain is advised. For heavy soil, heating a cup of water for 2-5 minutes can help soften the soil for easier removal.
