Starting and stopping
Before starting
• Keep people and animals well away from the working
area.
• Perform daily maintenance. See instructions in the
section "Maintenance".
Starting
S400B
• Set the throttle control to full throttle.
• When starting from cold: Set the choke control in the
chok
e position.
• Turn the switch to the "I"-position.
• Grip the starter handle, slowly pull out the cord with
y
our right hand until you feel some resistance (the
starter pawls grip), now quickly and powerfully pull the
cord. Never twist the starter cord around your hand.
• Set the choke control in the RUN position.
• Push the bar in towards the handle in order to start the
dr
ive of the mower blades. Release the bar in order to
stop the drive of the mower blades.
S400E
• Plug power supply to machine.
• Hold the starter throttle catch in and push the throttle
control to
wards the handle in order to start the engine.

ive of the mower blades. Release the bar in order to
stop the drive of the mower blades.
Stopping
• S400B Turn the switch to the "0"-position.

S400E Release the throttle control in order to stop the
engine.

IMPORTANT! Use an extension cord
intended for outdoor use. Always
connect the machine through an ground
fault circuit interrupter with personal
protection, i.e. an ground fault circuit
interrupter that trips at an ground fault of
30 mA. Do not use the machine when it's
raining or on a wet lawn.
