What to do if my Kobalt Trimmer stops while cutting?
- Rryan41Jul 28, 2025
If your Kobalt Trimmer stops while cutting, several factors could be the cause. First, the motor shaft or trimmer head may be bound with grass. To resolve this, stop the trimmer, disconnect the battery, and remove any grass from the motor shaft and trimmer head. Another reason could be that the motor is overloaded. Try moving the trimmer head to cut grass no more than 8 inches in a single pass, then remove the trimmer head from the grass and restart the tool. Lastly, the battery pack or string trimmer might be too hot. In this case, release the trigger switch, allow the tool to cool down, and then try starting it again.
