What to do if my Kobalt Impact Driver won't operate?

If your Kobalt Impact Driver isn't operating, several factors could be responsible. Start by checking for grit or gum inside the tool and flush it with air-tool oil or gum solvent. Ensure the tool is properly lubricated. Verify that the air pressure is adequate by adjusting the regulator on the tool to its maximum setting and setting the compressor regulator to a maximum of 90 PSI. Inspect the air hose for any leaks, and if found, tighten and seal the hose fittings with sealing tape. Pressure drops can also be a factor; ensure the hose is the correct size (a 1/2 inch I.D. or larger may be needed for long hoses or tools using large air volumes) and directly connect hoses instead of using multiple quick-connect fittings.
