Overview

This document provides installation and usage instructions for the KOHLER PATIO Vitreous China Touchless Urinal, models K-16320T-M/K-16321T-M (DC/battery-powered) and K-16320T-MC05/K-16321T-MC05 (AC/mains-powered).

Function Description:

The KOHLER PATIO Touchless Urinal is designed for hands-free operation, utilizing a sensor to detect user presence and initiate flushing. It aims to provide a hygienic and efficient flushing experience. The urinal is available in two main power configurations: battery-powered (DC) and mains-powered (AC). The K-16320T-M and K-16320T-MC05 models feature a dual-flush mode, while the K-16321T-M and K-16321T-MC05 models flush after use. The system includes an automatic regulation phase upon power-on to adjust the sensing distance, ensuring optimal performance. It also incorporates a deodorizing flush feature that activates after 3-4 uses within a 2-minute period to maintain hygiene. Manual flushing is possible using a special magnetic stick, which can also be used to adjust flushing settings for low water pressure environments.

Important Technical Specifications:

For K-16320T-M (DC) and K-16321T-M (DC):

  • Power: 2 "AAA" size alkaline batteries.
  • Liter per flushing (K-16320T-M):
    • Water pressure at 0.18~0.55 MPa: no more than 3.8L.
    • Water pressure at 0.1 MPa: no more than 3L.
  • Liter per flushing (K-16321T-M): Water pressure at 0.18~0.55 MPa: no more than 1L.
  • Environmental temperature: 1 to 55°C.
  • Starting pressure: 0.05~0.86MPa.
  • Sensing distance: 70cm away from sensing window (Automatic adjustment range: 50~70cm).
  • Testing time: About 2 seconds or 5 seconds (Automatic adjustment).
  • Flushing mode (K-16320T-M): Dual flushing.
  • Flushing mode (K-16321T-M): Flushing after used.

For K-16320T-MC05 (AC) and K-16321T-MC05 (AC):

  • Power: 220V AC 50/60Hz.
  • Liter per flushing (K-16320T-MC05):
    • Water pressure at 0.18~0.55 MPa: no more than 3.8L.
    • Water pressure at 0.1 MPa: no more than 3L.
  • Liter per flushing (K-16321T-MC05): Water pressure at 0.18~0.55 MPa: no more than 1L.
  • Environmental temperature: 1 to 55°C.
  • Starting pressure: 0.05~0.86MPa.
  • Sensing distance: 70cm away from sensing window (Automatic adjustment range: 50~70cm).
  • Testing time: About 2 seconds or 5 seconds (Automatic adjustment).
  • Flushing mode (K-16320T-MC05): Dual flushing.
  • Flushing mode (K-16321T-MC05): Flushing after used.

General Specifications:

  • Recommended inner diameter of water supply: No less than 25mm (including water meter, valve, etc.).
  • Supplied water pressure (sensor inlet dynamic pressure): 0.18MPa ~0.55MPa.
  • Sensing distance measurement: Based on a 30 × 30cm² white board as the reflecting surface.

Usage Features:

  • Initial Setup: Upon power-on, the system enters an automatic regulation phase for 10 minutes, during which the sensing distance is adjusted. No operation is required during this time, and the system will not work. It is crucial to clear any unwanted objects in front of the sensor window before powering on to prevent shortening of the sensing distance.
  • Working Status Setting (K-16320T-M/MC05):
    • Dual-flush (default): The product is factory-set to dual-flush.
    • Afteruse flushing (single flush): To cancel the first flushing function, a manual flush stick must be placed adjacent to the right side of the sensing window for more than 1 second during the 10-minute standby period after power-on. The sensor will then indicate the change with a flushing cycle. If the action is not completed within 10 minutes, or if restoration to dual-flush is desired, the power cord must be unplugged and reconnected until the indicator stops flashing, then the procedure repeated.
    • Detection time: Factory-set to 2 seconds. In narrow toilets, the system automatically adjusts the detection time from 2 seconds to 5 seconds to prevent improper activation.
  • Manual Flushing: A special magnetic stick (flushing control stick) can be used to manually flush the urinal. When the stick is brought near the sensor lens, the system enters a manual status (indicator flashes every 1 second). Each approach of the stick to the sensor lens triggers one flush. This manual status lasts for about 8 minutes before reverting to normal working status. If the stick remains near the sensor window for 30 seconds, the manual status is automatically terminated.
  • Low Water Pressure Setting (K-16321T-M/MC05): For environments with low water pressure, the flushing duration can be extended. Ten minutes after power-on, the flushing control stick can be used near the right side of the sensing window to switch between two wash times. A 2-second rinse will occur after setting. To reset, power must be cut off and restarted, then the setting can be adjusted again after 10 minutes. It is advised not to use this method under normal water pressure to avoid excessive flushing and water spills.
  • Deodorizing Flushing: The urinal automatically flushes after 3 or 4 uses within a 2-minute interval to prevent odors.
  • Battery Replacement (K-16320T-M/K-16321T-M): When batteries are low, the indicator will flash every 2 seconds, and the sensor will stop working. To replace, open the battery box cover and insert new batteries. Ensure correct polarity and do not mix new and used batteries.

Maintenance Features:

  • Urinal Repair: The sensor does not need to be dismounted for repairs. The sensing window should be covered with tape to prevent accidental activation during maintenance. Avoid using strong adhesive tape that may leave residue.
  • Filter Screen Cleaning: If the flushing volume decreases significantly without a change in water pressure, the filter may need cleaning.
    1. Remove the bracket of the valve assembly.
    2. Loosen the inlet hose of the valve assembly.
    3. Take out and clean the filter with a brush.
    4. Reinstall the filter.
    • Caution: Turn off the water supply and power (for AC models) before cleaning. Avoid damaging or losing the filter during cleaning.
  • Care & Clean:
    • Keep the sensing window clean. Wipe with a soft cloth and mild cleaner.
    • Do not use: Dust-removing powder, abrasive powder, or cleaners containing oil, acid, or alkaline ingredients.
    • Do not spray: Air fresheners, disinfectants, or other deodorizing/cleaning solvents directly into the sensing window.
    • Keep wires away from water.
    • Do not strike the sensor window.

Important Consumer Information:

  • Do not strike the sensor window.
  • The sensor is an electronic instrument; do not flush it directly with water.
  • Prevent sunlight or other light sources from entering or reflecting into the sensor window.
  • Do not hang reflective items on the opposite wall or install other light/electronic sensors (e.g., toilet flushing sensors) near the urinal.
  • Avoid placing the sensor window near strong ultraviolet or electromagnetic fields.
  • Ensure all electrical connections comply with relevant regulations and codes.
  • All installation personnel must be familiar with the installation instructions.
  • For AC models, ensure the AC power unit is protected by an appropriate fuse and that the connection area is free from water penetration and dampness.
  • Do not connect the power unit to the AC supply until the sensor installation is complete.
  • Before maintaining AC-powered products, always shut off the AC power and water supply.
  • The urinal is designed for use with potable water. Avoid water with high contaminants, acid/alkali content, or impure water.
