Adjusting valve clearance 1
a Adjusting tools for valve clearance
1. Disconnect breather tube (1) and blow-by tube
(2), and remove cylinder head cover (3).
2. Remove cap (4).
3. Move the No. 1 cylinder to the compression top
dead center.
1) Remove cap (5), insert gear C1, and
rotate it forward.
a Alternatively, you may fit a claw bar
[1] on the bolts at the end of the
crankshaft pulley (6) and rotate it.
2) Align the TDC stamp line (a) of gear cover
(7) with stamp line (b) of the supply pump
gear.
a The cylinder No. 1 is moved to the
compression top dead center.
4. After placing the No. 1 cylinder at the compres-
sion top dead center, place a counter mark on
the damper, and install a pointer to gear cover
(7) using wire.
