OPERATIONS AND CHECKS AFTER STARTING ENGINE
WARNING
If the engine suddenly stops or operates abnormally, turn the key in the starting switch to the OFF position.
If the work equipment is operated without carrying out the warming-up operation thoroughly, the reaction of the work
equipment and track assembly may be slow when the control lever is operated or the movement may not be what the operator
intended. Always carry out the warming-up operation. In particular, in cold areas, always carry out the warming-up operation
thoroughly.
BREAKING IN THE NEW MACHINE
CAUTION
Your Komatsu machine has been thoroughly adjusted and tested before shipment. However, operating the machine under severe
conditions at the beginning can adversely affect the performance and shorten the machine life.
Be sure to break-in the machine for the initial 100 hours (as indicated by the service meter).
During break-in operations, follow the precautions described in this manual.
Idle the engine for 5 minutes after starting it up.
Avoid operation with heavy loads or at high speeds.
Immediately after starting the engine, avoid sudden starts, sudden acceleration, unnecessary sudden stops, and
sudden changes in direction.
