8 – SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The helmet for mountaineering 997.002 - LEEF (g. 1) is a category II personal
protective equipment (as per 89/686/CEE Directive) complying with the
requirements set forth in standard EN 12492:12 and to the UIAA Standard 106,
and mainly designed to protect the user from any dangers which might occur
during mountaineering activities.
Important:
- the helmet is designed to absorb the energy of a shock through the destruction
or partial damage of the shell and / or webbings: replace the helmet even if the
damage is not visible.
- do not modify your helmet and do not apply coatings, adhesives or solvents
different than those supplied by the manufacturer,
- always use original accessories and always apply them as recommended by the
manufacturer.
Warning: these helmets are not for motorcycle use!

To guarantee adequate protection:
- don the helmet and rotate the rear wheel (D) to adjust the size until achieving the
required tension (g. 3),
- fasten the chin strap (C) inserting the buckles until the lock clicks (g. 4); pull
to check that the buckle is locked and adjust the chin strap length to keep the
helmet rm on your head,
- adjust the side slings (E) running them through the buckle until the desired
position is reached (g. 5).
Warning: the helmet shall be worn perfectly centred on the head; it should
not move, either backwards, forwards, or laterally. It shall always be
fastened! (g. 6).

9 – PRE AND POST USE CONTROLS
Check and make sure that:
- the shell (A) is not deformed and does not show signs of cracks or wear,
- textile parts do not show signs of wear, tear or unstitched seams,
- the size adjustment system (D) and the locking system (C and E) work as
described in pictograms No. 3, 4 and 5,
- the device is suitable for the intended purpose.

This device has been certied by the notied body No. 0497 – CSI S.p.A., V.le
