Chargingabatteryisaprocesswithaninherentrisksocheckapplicableprocedure(s)priortocharging
inordertorstassesstheleveloftheinherentrisk;andthen,ifnecessary,applysuitablecontrolsto
mitigatetheinherentriskbeforecharging.Followthechargingprocedurecarefully.
Context
Thebatterymustbefullychargedbeforelongtermstorageanditisrecommendedtorechargethe
batteryevery6monthstomakesurethebatterydoesnotdischargecompletelyovertime.Acompletely
dischargedbatterywillnotcharge,asalllithiumionbatteries.
Whenbatteryandtransponderareshippedseparately,thebattery“mustbeshippedatastateofcharge
(SoC)notexceeding30%oftheirratedcapacity”inordertobeincompliancewithIATAregulations.
ThecNODEMiniSbatterychargerisforcharging
cNODEMiniSbatteriesandcNODEMicro
batteriesonly.Neveruseitforotherpurposes.The
batterychargerwillonlychargewhenabattery’s
stateofchargeislessthan96%ofitsratedcapacity.
Important
EqualizethetemperatureofthecNODEMiniS
tobetween10°Cand40°Cbeforechargingit.
AlwaysusethecNODEMiniSbatterychargerforon-deckchargingofcNODEMiniSbatteriesand
cNODEMicrobatteries.
Neverchargebatteriesunattended.
Procedure
1Disconnecttheon/offplugfromthecNODEtransponder.
2Lettheunitwarmuporcooldowntoanambienttemperatureof10°Cto40°Cbeforecharging.
3ConnectthebatterychargerplugtotheconnectoronthetranspondermarkedCHARGE.
4Connectthebatterychargertomains(110or220V AC).
