SincetheGripTuneissmallandlightweight,infantsmay
try to put it in their mouths. Keep the GripTune out of the
reach of infants.
Installing the battery
Makesuretoturnthepoweroffbeforeyoureplacethe
baery.
Whenthebatteryrunslow,the
notenameindicatorwillblink,
andtheLEDmeterwillnolonger
operate smoothly. Replace the
baeryassoonaspossibletoen-
sure accurate tuning.
1. Slideoutthebatterytray,
which is combined with the
display.
2. Insertthebaery,makingsure
to observe the correct polarity.
3. Return the battery tray to its
original position.
Tuning
1. Pressthepowerbuttontoturnonthepower.Holding
down the power button for at least one second flips the
indications in the display.
Use of this feature is determined by the physical place-
mentoftheGripTune.(i.e.whenplacedontherearofa
headstock,oronalefthandedguitar/bass,etc.)
2. Playasinglenoteonyourguitarorbass.

3. TuneyourguitarorbasstomakethecenteroftheLED
meter light up.
 TheleftsideoftheLEDmeterwilllightupifyourinstru-
mentisat,andtherightsidewilllightupifyourinstru-
mentis sharp.
4. Toturnothepower,pressthepowerbuon.
If approximately ten minutes pass without the GripTune
detectinganysound,thepowerwillturnoautomatical-
ly.
Evenifthepitchiswithintherangeofdetection,itmay
not be possible to detect the pitch of an instrumental
sound that contains large numbers of overtones or a
sound that has a rapid decay.
Themetermayrespondtovibrationsitpicksupfromthe
environment;however,thiswillnotaffecttuningofthe
instrument.

TheGripTunetunesbypickingupthevibrationsofthein-
strument.
Forthemostaccuratetuning,besuretoaachtheGripTune
totheheadstockofyourinstrument.
Inaddition,thedisplaycanbemovedasshownbelow,so
that it is easier to read.

The GripTune may be damaged if you apply excessive
forcewithinitsrangeofmotion,oraempttomoveitbe-
yond its intended range of motion.
