The last step in tensioning the mast is attach-
ing the foresail stay and jib stay.
To do so, screw in 2 eye screws part 167 into
the caps.
Fit the jib stay between the top eye screw and
an eye screw 167 on the jib boom with a ten-
sioner part 148.
Mount the foresail stay between the eyebolt
and the lower eye screw on the deck with a
tensioner part 148.
Next, fasten the boom to the mast.
Use whipping twine item 172 for all halyards
and tackles.
Drill 2 holes at the end of the boom gooseneck
and thread and tie 4-5 round thimbles part 175
on the threaded line.
Attach the downhaul, which is comprised of
one block each of parts 163 and 164. To do so,
screw in one eye screw 166 on the boom and
the mast foot. So that the mast can be re-
moved from the boat, the block at the bottom
of the mast foot must be attached with a hook.
The last part of putting up the rig is attaching
the gaff sail boom.
First, the gooseneck halyard is run over a
tackle and attached.
To do so, attach an eye screw 166 on the
lower cap.
2 eye screws 167 should also be placed on the
gaff sail boom.
Place the gooseneck halyard on the mast foot
on the pin rail.
