CRISP WAFFLES
A slightly lighter and crispier version of the
classic recipe.
Thermostat setting: 6
Cooking time: approximately 4 to 4 1/2 min
For 6 waffles: 2 eggs, 2 1/2 cups (300 g) plain
flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, pinch salt, 1 tbsp
sugar, 1 3/4 cup (400 ml) milk
• Beat the eggs until frothy.
Add the other ingredients and beat the
mixture until smooth.
BEER WAFFLES
Festive waffles, to enjoy with friends.
Thermostat setting: 6
Cooking time: approximately 4 to 4 1/2 min
For 8 waffles: 1 1/3 cup (330 ml) beer, 2 cups
(250 g) plain flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1 tsp
salt, 4 eggs, 1/3 cup (75 g) sugar, 3 1/2 tbsp
(50 g) melted butter, 1 tsp lemon juice
Pour the beer into a jug and let it stand for
5 minutes until the froth disappears.
• Combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, beer,
butter, sugar and lemon juice for
approximately 2 minutes.
Gradually add the flour mixture, one
spoonful at a time.
• Beat until smooth.
CRUNCHY WAFFLES WITH HOT CHOCOLATE
AND ICE CREAM
A "relaxed" waffle, great for children
along with a glass of fruit juice.
Thermostat setting: 6
Cooking time: approximately 4 1/2 to
5 1/2 min
For 6 waffles: 1 1/2 packages (10 g) active
dried yeast, 2 cubes or 2 tsp sugar, 2 eggs,
1/3 cup (75 g) butter, 1 cup (1/4 litre) milk,
2 cups (250 g) plain flour, 1 liqueur glass of
Cognac, pinch salt, vanilla ice cream, chocolate
sauce
Leave the yeast for 15 minutes to become
frothy in a glass of hand-hot water with the
sugar.
Combine the yeast mixture, eggs and melted
butter.
• Add the milk, flour, Cognac and salt and mix
to a fluid consistency.
Leave the mixture to stand for 3 hours in a
warm place.
Before serving, garnish with 2 scoops of
vanilla ice cream and top with melted
chocolate (also delicious served with sugar or
jam).
BELGIAN WAFFLES
Discover a waffle as it is made in Belgium,
commonly served as a dessert or snack
with powdered sugar or strawberries and
cream.
Thermostat setting: 6
Cooking time: approximately 4 1/2 to 5 1/2
min
For 6 waffles: 1 1/2 cup (300 g) butter, 2 1/2
cups (300 g) plain flour, 1 1/2 cup (300 g)
sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, 2 1/4 cups milk,
5 eggs
• Soften the butter.
Combine the flour, sugar and baking
powder.
• Add the softened butter and the eggs.
• Mix in the milk.
Once cooking is complete, remove the waffle
and place on a plate for further crisping.
SOFT BELGIAN WAFFLES
For waffles that are thick and soft.
Thermostat setting: 6
Cooking time: approximately 5 to 5 1/2 min
For 16 galettes: 10 eggs yolks, 8 cups (500 g)
plain flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, 3 1/2 cups
(400 g) melted butter, 4 cups (400 g) sugar,
1 2/3 cup (200 ml) milk, 1 tsp vanilla extract,
10 eggs whites
• Beat the egg yolks.
Gradually add the remaining ingredients,
finishing with the stiffly beaten egg whites.
This batter is best made the day before and
kept in the refrigerator.
