Removing the Subframe from the Tractor
WARNING: To avoid serious personal
injury: Park the tractor on level ground,
place the transmission in neutral, set the
parking brake, disengage the PTO, place all
control levers in neutral, shut off the
engine, remove the ignition key and allow
the rotating parts to stop BEFORE
removing the subframe from underneath
the tractor.
Step 1: (Figure 13)
• Remove the equipment (blade, rotary
broom or snowblower) from the subframe
and remove the drivelines if applicable.
• Remove the two 1/4" round lock pins (fig.
11, item 4) and the two Ø 1 1/4" x 5 3/4"
pins (fig. 11, item 2).
• Sit on the tractor seat and start the engine.
Raise the male quick hitch using the
tractor's hydraulic valve lever. Shut off the
engine and insert a 3" thick wood block
(item 2, not included) under the nose of the
male quick hitch (item 3).
• Sit on the tractor seat and start the engine.
Using the hydraulic valve lever, slowly
lower the male quick hitch to the ground in
order to slightly raise the front wheels.
Shut off the engine.
• Set the parking stand (item 1).
• Remove the two 3/8" x 2 1/2" pipe pins
(Fig.9b, item 2) and two 1 3/4" "T" pins
(Fig.9b, item 1).
Step 2: (Figure 14)
• Sit on the tractor seat and relieve hydraulic
pressure using the hydraulic valve lever.
This operation will lower the front of the
subframe to the ground (refer to figure 14).
• Remove the 3" thick wood block (item 2)
from under the nose of the male quick hitch
(item 3).
