Installation Instructions
Introduction
These fully screened general purpose
4, 6 and 8 way ampliers are ideal for
distributing TV and FM DAB radio signals.
Separate inputs for UHF TV (470-790 MHz)
and for FM DAB (40-270MHz).
The 6 and 8 way versions feature a higher
gain “FULL (18dB) output. This may be
used in conjuction with additional passive
accessories (taps and splitters)
to allow additional outputs to be fed or
to feed other distribution ampliers.
Please Note: If the full power socket is not
being used it must be terminated with the
75Ω terminator supplied.
In weak UHF signal areas, or where a long
downlead cable is required, it may be desirable to
use a masthead preamplier mounted close to the UHF antenna.
These multi-way ampliers feature a built-in 12V line powering
on the UHF input; ther is no need to use a separate power unit for
the masthead amplier. The built-in line power is rated at 25mA (fully short
curcuit-proof) and is compatible with Labgear masthead preampliers.
The masthead gain should be keep to a minimum and genarally only needs to exceed the
downlead cable loss. A single stage 13dB gain masthead (LMA113F) will be suitable for the
great majority of applications.
All units are suitable for direct amplication of digital terrestrial TV (Freeview™) signals.
When connected directly to a UHF aerial the integrated lter remove any signals from Lte 800
4G mobile phone transmitters picked up by an attached antenna.
Applications
Applications include the following:
Simple multipoint distribution of radio and TV signals.
The Full Power output on 6 and 8 way units makes these units ideal for use in larger
homes and ats
Please Note: These units have no IR return path and require a digital bypass to be tted to
enable remote control of Sky™ equipment via the RF2 Output. When using these ampliers
with a Sky Digibox, the amplier must be fed from RF OUT-2 socket of the Digibox.
To view satellite RF2 output TVs require an analogue tuner.

observed to prevent overheating. In addition, units should not be positioned where they
are likely to become covered by curtains/fabrics or thermal insulation materials in a roof
space or similar building void. The unit should not be left resting on a carpet.

unit and attached wiring well away from naked ames.
Fitted Mains Plug
These appliances are supplied with a standard xed plug already tted. If this is not
suitable, refer to the instructions below. If you need to change the fuse in this plug,
a 3Amp fuse to BS1362 carrying the ASTA or BSI approved mark must be used.
Always re-t the plastic fuse carrier when replacing the fuse.
Changing the Plug
If the tted mains plug is not suitable for the socket outlet in use, it should be cut o
and an appropriate new plug tted. Any instruction supplied with the plug should be
followed. The Brown wire must be connected to the live (L) terminal of the plug and the
Blue wire to the neutral (N) terminal. Neither wire should be connected to the earth (E)
terminal of a 3-pin plug (this appliance does not require an earth connection). Ensure
that the cord grip in the plug is correctly used and clamps the sheath of the cord rmly.
Fuse Rating: If the new plug is a fused type, the fuse tted should be rated at no more
