6.5 Booster
An additional component (booster) is fitted on the
vehicles to optimise auxiliary battery charging while
driving. The booster is located near the 12 V distri-
bution control unit.
The booster is equipped with a selector (a) which
must be set according to the type of battery used.
6.6 Electric step
The opening and closing of the electric step can be
actuated by means of a switch (a) on the inside of the
vehicle, in the living quarters door area.
• Do not overload the lines with additional
electric appliances.
• Do not leave the engine turned on when either
the engine battery or the auxiliary battery
terminals are disconnected (danger of short
circuit).

The booster operates only if the vehicle’s control
panel is switched on.
NOTE
Refer to the manufacturer’s manual for more
information on the booster.
NOTE
To guarantee safety, a buzzer alert that the step is
open when the vehicle is started.
NOTE
Please refer to the booster manufacturers manual
and the technical specifications provided by the
battery manufacturer to set the booster correctly.
WARNING
Battery replacement and correct setting of the
booster must only be carried out by specialised
personnel. Incorrect setting of the battery
type selector (a) may result in the formation of
detonating gas, resulting in a risk of explosion.
Always contact a Laika authorised workshop.

Do not go up or down the step while it is moving.
WARNING
Always proceed with care when climbing up and
out: the step may be slippery.
