What to do if my Landa VLP3-1100 has pilot gas but no spark?

  If your Landa Pressure Washer has pilot gas but no spark, it could be due to a defective ignitor/sensor or its wiring, or a faulty ignition control unit. Set your test meter to the ohm scale. Touch one meter probe to the tip of the ignitor/sensor rod in the pilot and the other probe to the quick connect at the other end of the ignitor/sensor wire. If you have continuity from the tip of the ignitor/sensor rod to the connector and no spark, replace the ignition control unit. If you do not have continuity through the wire and the ignitor/sensor, check for a loose wire connection in the wire and repair as needed. Also, check if the spark shorts to the burner ring through a cut in the ignitor wire.

  If the water temperature is too hot on your Landa Pressure Washer, it might be due to: * Incoming water being too warm or hot. Try lowering the incoming water temperature. * Gas pressure being too high. Contact your local gas company. * The detergent line sucking in air. Tighten all clamps and check the detergent lines for holes. * A defective high limit switch. Replace it. * Incorrect burner nozzle size. Refer to the exploded view parts list. * Insufficient water supply. Check the water G.P.M. to the machine. * Restricted water flow. Check the nozzle for obstructions and proper size.

  Low water temperature in your Landa Pressure Washer can be caused by: * Improper size of gas lines. See pages 7-8 for sizing of gas lines. * Low gas pressure. Increase gas pressure to the machine. * Improper pressure regulator. Specify BTU, building gas pressure and 11 w.c.i. to machine for correct sizing of regulator. * Low gas valve pressure. Increase gas pressure as described on page 14. * Soot buildup on coils not allowing heat transfer. Clean the coils. * Improper burner nozzle. See exploded view parts list.

  To address the issue of having a spark but no pilot gas flow in your Landa Pressure Washer: * Main gas supply turned off: Set test meter to 24 volt scale. Be sure main gas valve (gas cock or selector arm) is turned on. * Gas valve issue: With gas on and system sparking, probe terminals PV and 24V(GND). If pilot gas does not flow with 24 volts at these terminals, replace gas valve. * Ignition control box problem: Probe terminals PV and MV/PV. If 24 volts not present, replace ignition control box.
