Overview

This document is an owner's manual for an outdoor fire pit, providing detailed instructions for assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description

The device is an outdoor decorative gas appliance, specifically an outdoor fire pit, designed to provide heat and ambiance. It operates on propane gas and is intended for outdoor use only. The fire pit is a combustion appliance that produces carbon monoxide (CO) during operation, but is designed to produce extremely minute, non-hazardous amounts when used and maintained correctly. It features a control knob for adjusting flame height and an electronic igniter for lighting. The fire pit is designed to hold lava rocks, which enhance the visual effect of the flame. A protective cover is included for when the fire pit is not in use.

  • Propane Tank Connection: Instructions detail how to place a 20 lb. propane gas tank into the bottom plate, secure it with straps, and attach the preassembled regulator to the cylinder valve by hand-tightening the coupling nut.
  • Lighting Procedure:
    1. Ensure the control knob is in the "OFF" position.
    2. Fully open the LP cylinder valve.
    3. For initial start or after a cylinder change, hold the control knob IN for 2 minutes to purge air from gas lines.
    4. Push in the gas control knob, turn it counterclockwise to "LOW," and press the RED Ignitor button to light the fire pit. Continue pressing the igniter button until the fire pit lights (a clicking sound should be heard).
    5. Once lit, release the control knob.
    6. To increase flame, turn the control knob counterclockwise to "HIGH." To decrease flame, turn it clockwise to "LOW."
  • Safety Precautions (General):
    • Always read and understand the entire manual before use.
    • Do not return to the store for issues; contact customer service.
    • Ensure all components are properly assembled, intact, and operable.
    • No alterations should be made to the appliance.
    • All gas connections must be secure and leak-free.
    • Perform a leak test before each use using a soap and water mixture. If a leak is detected, turn off the gas, disconnect the tank, and do not use the appliance until repaired.
    • Never use the fire pit if any part has been under water; call a qualified service technician.
    • Keep solid combustibles, flammable materials (gasoline, solvents, paint thinner), and vapors away from the fire pit.
    • Do not use in spaces containing volatile or airborne combustibles.
    • Ensure adequate clearances from combustible materials.
    • For outdoor use only; never use inside a house or unventilated/enclosed areas.
    • Do not block airflow into or out of the fire pit.
    • Carbon monoxide hazard: Be aware of flu-like symptoms, watery eyes, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, which may indicate CO poisoning. Get fresh air immediately if these symptoms occur.
    • Burn hazard: Surfaces become hot during use. Alert children and adults to high surface temperatures and supervise young children. Never leave unattended while hot or in use.
    • Do not hang clothing or other flammable materials from the fire pit.
    • Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors/liquids near the appliance.
    • An LP-cylinder not connected for use should not be stored near the appliance.
    • Store propane cylinders outdoors in a well-ventilated space, out of reach of children. Disconnect the cylinder for indoor storage.
    • Do not store propane near high heat, open flames, pilot lights, direct sunlight, or where temperatures exceed 120°F (49°C).
    • Propane vapors are heavier than air and can accumulate in low places; leave the area immediately if gas is smelled.
    • Never install or remove a propane cylinder while the fire pit is lit, near flames, pilot lights, other ignition sources, or when hot.
    • The fire pit is red hot during use and can ignite flammables too close to the burner.
    • Pumice stones/lava rocks/LavaGlass® can pop up during lighting; stand away for the first 20 minutes after igniting.
    • Do not store materials or items under the fire pit that could be damaged by radiant heat.
    • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Do not mix battery types or old/new batteries. Insert batteries with correct polarity. Remove exhausted batteries. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
  • After Operation:
    1. Turn the gas control to the "OFF" position.
