How to fix Legacy Heating WELLFP5010 burner that will not light with match/lighter?
    • C
      Cynthia YoungAug 5, 2025
If the burner of your Legacy Heating Outdoor Fireplace doesn't light with a match or lighter, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the LP gas tank valve is open and the regulator is securely attached. If there's no gas flow, check if the LP gas tank is empty and refill or replace it if needed. In case of an LP gas leak, turn the tank valve off, wait 5 minutes, and follow the leak checking procedure. Also, confirm the coupling nut and regulator are fully connected, tightening by hand only. Obstructions in the gas flow can also prevent lighting; clear the burner/venture tube and check for a bent hose. Finally, ensure the burner is correctly engaged with the valve, and clean the burner/venture tube and ports if they are blocked by spider webs, insect nests, or debris.

Why Legacy Heating WELLFP5010 has sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height?
    • X
      xcooperAug 10, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height in your Legacy Heating Outdoor Fireplace could be due to a couple of reasons. First, check if you're out of gas and exchange, refill, or replace the LP gas tank. Alternatively, the excess flow safety device may have been activated. To reset it, turn the control knob to "OFF", wait 30 seconds, and attempt to light the fireplace again. If the flames remain too low, you can resettle the overfilling prevention device by turning the control knob and LP gas tank valve "OFF", disconnecting the regulator, turning the control knob to "HIGH", waiting one minute, turning the control knob back to "OFF", reconnecting the regulator, leak checking the connections (being careful not to fully open the valve), and then lighting the outdoor fireplace again.

What to do if Legacy Heating WELLFP5010 flame goes out?
    • M
      mitchelljesusAug 14, 2025
If the flame of your Legacy Heating Outdoor Fireplace goes out, it could be due to a few reasons. High or gusting winds can extinguish the flame, so avoid using the fireplace in such conditions. Also, check if you're low on LP gas and exchange, refill, or replace the tank. Finally, the excess flow valve might have tripped; in this case, refer to the section on 'Sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height'.

    • K
      Kevin JonesAug 18, 2025
An irregular flame pattern in your Legacy Heating Outdoor Fireplace, where the flame doesn't run the full length of the burner, is often caused by clogged or blocked burner ports. To resolve this, clean the burner ports.

Why Legacy Heating WELLFP5010 flame is yellow or orange?
    • P
      Patricia FranklinAug 22, 2025
If the flame of your Legacy Heating Outdoor Fireplace is yellow or orange, there are a few potential causes. If it's a new burner, it may have residual manufacturing oils; try burning the fire pit for 15 minutes and then inspect the flame. Another cause could be spider webs or insect nests in the burner/venture tube, in which case you should clean the burner/venture tube. Finally, poor alignment of the valve to the burner/venture tube could be the issue; ensure the burner/venture tube is properly engaged with the valve.

What to do if Legacy Heating Outdoor Fireplace flame seems to lose heat in cold weather?
    • J
      Jerome DavisAug 31, 2025
If the flame seems to lose heat when burning in cold weather (below 50°F) with your Legacy Heating Outdoor Fireplace, it could be due to ice buildup on the outside of the LP gas tank, which slows down the vaporization process. To address this, turn the LP gas tank valve "OFF" and the control knob to "OFF". Replace the current LP gas tank with a spare. Reconnect the LP gas tank, check for leaks, and then light the outdoor fireplace.
