6.3 Cleaning and Drying

Blow dust off lenses and prisms.

Never touch the glass with your ngers.
•
Use only a clean, soft, lint-free cloth for cleaning. If necessary, moisten
the cloth with water or pure alcohol. Do not use other liquids; these may
attack the polymer components.
Prisms that are cooler than the ambient temperature tend to fog. It is not
enough simply to wipe them. Keep them for some time inside your jacket or in
the vehicle to allow them to adjust to the ambient temperature.
Dry the product, the transport container, the foam inserts and the accessories
at a temperature not greater than 40 °C /104 °F and clean them. Remove the
battery cover and dry the battery compartment. Do not repack until everything
is completely dry. Always close the transport container when using in the eld.
Keep plugs clean and dry. Blow away any dirt lodged in the plugs of the con-
necting cables.
