The Lennox Mini-Split Systems Wireless Indoor Unit Controller (model 22U52, part number 508184-01) is a wireless local controller designed specifically for Lennox mini-split indoor unit model M33C. This user guide, dated October 2021, provides comprehensive instructions for its operation and features.

Function Description:

The controller provides complete remote control of the Lennox mini-split indoor unit, allowing users to manage various operating modes, set temperatures, adjust fan speeds, and utilize specialized functions such as sleep mode, follow me, and self-clean. It acts as the primary interface for interacting with the indoor unit, ensuring comfort and energy efficiency.

Important Technical Specifications:

• Rated Voltage: 3.0 VDC (powered by 2 AAA batteries, which are included in the package).
• Minimum Voltage for Sending Signal to CPU: 2.4 VDC.
• Effective Transmitting Distance: Up to 26 feet (8 meters).
• Operation Conditions: Operates within a temperature range of 23°F to 140°F (-5°C to 60°C).
• Package Contents: Each package contains one wireless controller, two AAA batteries, and one remote controller holder with a mounting screw.

Usage Features:

General Operation:

• ON/OFF Button: Turns the system on and off.
• UP/DOWN Buttons: Used to increase or decrease the indoor temperature in one-degree increments, with a maximum setting of 86°F and a minimum of 62°F. Note that temperature cannot be adjusted in FAN mode. Pressing and holding both buttons for three seconds alternates the temperature display between °C and °F.
• MODE Button: Selects system operation modes, including AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, and FAN.
• FAN Button: Cycles through fan speeds: AUTO, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. Holding the FAN button down for two seconds activates the Silence feature. Fan speed cannot be adjusted in AUTO or DRY mode.
• TURBO Button: Enables the unit to reach the preset temperature in cooling or heating operation in the shortest time.
• ECO/GEAR Button: Controls temperature/energy efficiency. In ECO operation (available only in cooling mode), it sets the unit to 75°F if the setpoint is lower and the fan to Auto if the setpoint is over 75°F. If the setpoint is manually changed to less than 75°F, ECO operation is canceled. In GEAR operation, it reduces electrical consumption to 75% or 50%.
• TIMER Button: Initiates auto-on or auto-off time sequences. Pressing the TIMER button multiple times sets the desired time. Each press increases the time by 30 minutes (up to 10 hours) or 60 minutes (from 10 to 24 hours). To cancel, set the timer to 0.0 or turn the remote off and on.
• SWING Button: Used to stop or start the louver auto-swing feature. Pressing multiple times sets the louvers at five different fixed airflow angles.
• BREEZE AWAY Button: Prevents the unit from blowing air directly on a person (available only in COOL, FAN, or DRY modes).
• LED Button: Turns the LCD display backlight on or off on the indoor unit.

Specialized Functions:

• SET Button: Scrolls through unit operations like Sleep and Follow Me. The selected symbol flashes, requiring an OK button press to confirm.
• Sleep Function: Automatically increases cooling or decreases heating (in 2°F increments) per hour for the first two hours, then maintains a steady temperature for five hours. The system reverts to the previous operation mode after seven total hours. This mode is available only in COOL, HEAT, or AUTO mode.
• Follow Me Function: Allows remote temperature sensing of the room at the remote controller's location.
• Lock Function: Pressing the TURBO and CLEAN buttons together twice in less than one second locks the controller to prevent tampering. Pressing them again for two seconds unlocks it.

Maintenance Features:

• Clean Function (Active Clean): Washes away dust, mold, and grease that may cause odors by automatically freezing and then rapidly thawing the indoor coil. The indoor unit displays "CL" during this process. After 20 to 45 minutes, the unit automatically cancels the operation. This function is available only in COOL or DRY modes.
• Low Battery Detection: The controller features a flashing indicator to alert users when the batteries are low.

Important Notes for Usage:

• Always point the remote controller directly at the indoor unit.
• Maintain a clear line of sight between the remote controller and the indoor unit. The controller will not function if the signal is blocked.
• Do not submerge the remote controller in liquid or expose it to direct sunlight.
• Avoid dropping or stepping on the remote controller.
• Frequent changes to the operating mode may cause system malfunction. Allow at least one minute between mode changes for the system to stabilize.

The controller holder can be mounted on a wall for easy access, and mounting screws are furnished for this purpose. This manual should be kept by the owner for future reference.
