Overview

This document provides a user guide for Lennox MHA Series single-zone mini-split systems, which are heat pump units available in 115V and 208/230V configurations. These systems utilize HFC-410A refrigerant.

Function Description

The Lennox MHA Series mini-split system is designed to provide cooling, heating, and dry modes for single-zone applications. The system consists of an indoor wall-mounted unit and an outdoor heat pump unit. Operation is primarily controlled via a wireless remote controller, with a manual control button available on the indoor unit for emergency use.

The system offers several operational features to enhance user comfort and efficiency:

  • Auto Restart: In the event of a power loss, the unit will automatically restart with its previous settings once power is restored.
  • Anti-Mildew: When the unit is turned off from COOL or DRY modes, the heat pump will continue to operate at very low power to dry up condensed water, preventing mildew growth.
  • Louver Angle Memory: The louver will automatically resume its former angle operation when the unit is turned on.
  • Refrigerant Leakage Detection: The indoor unit will display "EC" if it detects refrigerant leakage, indicating a potential issue.
  • Louver Adjustment: Louvers can be set to automatically swing up and down or remain stationary in a single position using the remote controller. For cooling, it is recommended to direct horizontal discharge air louvers outward.
  • Frost Prevention Mode (FP): In heating mode, the unit can be set to operate at a 46°F (8°C) set point to prevent frost.
  • Timer ON/OFF: Users can set the unit to automatically turn on or off at selected intervals.
  • Sleep Mode: Activates "night-mode," which automatically adjusts the set point by 2°F (1°C) per hour for the first two hours, maintaining the modified set point for five hours before turning off.
  • Turbo Mode: Quickly ramps up the indoor unit to reach the set point faster in both heating and cooling modes.
  • Self Clean Mode: In cooling or dry mode, the indoor unit temporarily changes operation to evaporate condensate on the coil, then returns to previous conditions.
  • Silence Button: Activates quiet mode operation for reduced sound, though this may impact cooling or heating capacity.
  • Follow Me Function: Transfers the temperature sensing function from the indoor unit to the wireless remote controller, allowing the unit to regulate room temperature based on the remote controller's location.

Troubleshooting:

  • The indoor unit display may show fault codes (e.g., E0, E1, E3, EC, F0, P0) indicating various system errors. If a fault code appears, contact a licensed professional HVAC installer or service agency.

Safety Warnings:

  • Electrical Shock, Fire, or Explosion Hazard: Do not spray water on the indoor unit, touch the unit or controller with wet hands, or insert hands/tools into air intake/outlet. Do not remove the outdoor unit fan guard.
  • Caution: If the outdoor unit is on a raised stand, check its stability. Do not install sprinklers or soaker hoses that expose the outdoor unit to treated water, as this can corrode parts and diminish performance.
  • Important: Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, or maintenance can cause property damage, personal injury, or loss of life. Installation and service must be performed by a licensed professional HVAC installer or service agency.
