YourServiceProviderwillattempttodiagnoseandresolveyourproblemoverthe
telephone,e-mail,orthroughremoteassistance.YourServiceProvidermaydirect
youtodownloadandinstalldesignatedsoftwareupdates.
Someproblemscanberesolvedwithareplacementpartthatyoucaninstall
yourselfcalleda“CustomerReplaceableUnit”or“CRU.”Ifso,yourService
ProviderwillshiptheCRUtoyouforyoutoinstall.
Ifyourproblemcannotberesolvedoverthetelephoneorremotely,throughyour
applicationofsoftwareupdatesortheinstallationofaCRUbyyou,yourService
Providerwillarrangeforserviceunderthetypeofwarrantyservicedesignatedfor
theproductunderthesectiontitled“WarrantyInformation.”
IfyourServiceProviderdeterminesthatitisunabletorepairyourproduct,your
ServiceProviderwillreplaceitwithonethatisatleastfunctionallyequivalent.
IfyourServiceProviderdeterminesthatitisunabletoeitherrepairorreplaceyour
product,yoursoleremedyistoreturntheproducttoyourplaceofpurchaseorto
Lenovoforarefundofyourpurchaseprice.
ReplacementofaProductorPart
Whenthewarrantyserviceinvolvesthereplacementofaproductorpart,the
replacedproductorpartbecomesLenovo'spropertyandthereplacementproduct
orpartbecomesyourproperty.OnlyunalteredLenovoproductsandpartsare
eligibleforreplacement.ThereplacementproductorpartprovidedbyLenovo
maynotbenew,butitwillbeingoodworkingorderandatleastfunctionally
equivalenttotheoriginalproductorpart.Thereplacementproductorpartshallbe
warrantedforthebalanceoftheperiodremainingontheoriginalproduct.
BeforeyourServiceProviderreplacesaproductorpart,youagreeto:
1.removeallfeatures,parts,options,alterations,andattachmentsnotunder
warrantyservice;
2.ensurethattheproductorpartisfreeofanylegalobligationsorrestrictions
thatpreventitsreplacement;and
3.obtainauthorizationfromtheownertohaveyourServiceProviderservicea
productorpartifyoudonotownit.
YourAdditionalResponsibilities
Whereapplicable,beforeserviceisprovided,youagreeto:
1.followtheservicerequestproceduresthatyourServiceProviderspecies;
2.backuporsecureallprogramsanddatacontainedintheproduct;
3.provideyourServiceProviderwithallsystemkeysorpasswordsand
sufcient,free,andsafeaccesstoyourfacilitiestoperformservice;and
4.ensurethatallinformationaboutidentiedoridentiableindividuals(“Personal
Data”)isdeletedfromtheproductorthat,withrespecttoanyPersonalData
thatyoudidnotdelete,youareincompliancewithallapplicablelaws.
