•Thesurfaceofyourngerisdifferentfromwhenyouenrolledyourngerprint.
•Yourngeriswet.
•Angerisusedthathasnotbeenenrolled.
Toimprovethesituation,trythefollowing:
•Cleanorwipeyourhandstoremoveanyexcessdirtormoisturefromthengers.
•Enrollanduseadifferentngerforauthentication.
•Ifyourhandsaredry,applylotiontothem.

Someofthedatastoredontheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrivemightbesensitive.Handingyour
computerovertosomeoneelsewithoutdeletingtheloadedsoftware,suchasoperatingsystemsand
applicationsoftware,mightevenviolatelicenseagreements.Besuretodeletedatastoredontheharddisk
driveorsolid-statedrivebeforeyoudisposeof,sell,orhandoveryourcomputer.
Youcanusethefollowingmethodstodeletedatafromtheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive:
•MovingthedatatotheRecycleBin,andthenemptytheRecycleBin.
•Deletingthedata.
•Formattingyourharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive,usingthesoftwareforinitializingit.
•UsingtherecoveryprogramprovidedbyLenovotobringtheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrivebackto
thefactorydefaultsettings.
Theseoperations,however,onlychangethelelocationofthedata;theydonotdeletethedataitself.In
otherwords,thedataretrievalprocessingisdisabledunderanoperatingsystemsuchasWindows.The
dataisstillthere,eventhoughitseemstobelost.Thus,itissometimespossibletoreadthedatabyuseof
specialsoftwarefordatarecovery.Thereisariskthatpeopleofbadfaithmightreadandmisusethecritical
dataonharddiskdrivesorsolid-statedrivesforunexpectedpurposes.
Topreventleakageofdata,itisimportantthatyoudeleteallthedatafromtheharddiskdrivewhenyou
disposeof,sell,orhandoveryourcomputer.Youcandestroythedataphysicallybysmashingtheharddisk
drivewithahammer,ormagneticallybymeansofstrongmagneticpower,thusmakingthedataunreadable.
