selectDisk0unallocatedspacefortheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperating
system,andthenclickNext.Apartitionwillbecreatedautomatically.
•Manuallycreateapartition:Ifyouwanttocreateapartitionmanually,dothefollowing:
a.SelectDisk0unallocatedspacefortheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperating
system,clickDriveroptions(advanced),andthenclickNew.
b.Typetheamountofspace(inMB),andthenclickApply.
c.ClickNext.
Theselectedpartitionwillbeformattedandtheapplicableleswillbecopiedtothedrivepartition.This
processtakesseveralminutes.Afterthat,theserverwillrestart.
Note:AmessageNodriveswerefoundmightbedisplayedindicatingthatyoudonothaveamass
storagedevicedriverinstalled.T oinstallamassstoragedevicedriver,connecttheUSBstoragedevice
containingtheRAIDcontrollerdrivertoyourserver,andthenselectLoadDriver.
Theinstallationprocesswillcontinueaftertheserverrestarts.
8.WhentheInstallWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011Standardwindowopens,selectasetupmode
andthenclickNext.
•CleanInstall:SelectthisoptionifyoudonothaveanexistingWindowsdomain.AWindowsdomain
isalogicalgroupofcomputersrunningversionsoftheMicrosoftWindowsoperatingsystemthat
shareacentraldirectorydatabase.SelectthisoptiontosetupafullnewinstallationoftheWindows
SmallBusinessServer2011Standardoperatingsystem.
•ServerMigration:SelectthisoptionifyouwanttoaddthisservertoanexistingWindowsdomain,
andtheninstalltheserverapplications.Ifyouselectthisoption,youcanhaveonlyoneserverrunning
theWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011operatingsystemonyournetwork,andthatservermustbe
adomaincontrollerofthenetwork.
9.ClickOpenDateandTimetoverifytheclockandtimezonesettingstosetyourdateandtime.
Then,clickNext.
10.Selectoneofthefollowingmethodsforyourservernetworkconguration:
•Automaticallydetectthenetworksettings:Thisoptionenablesyourservertoautomaticallydetect
thenetworksettingsofthenetworkadapter.Ifyouselectthisoption,whentheGetimportantupdates
windowopens,itisrecommendedthatyouselectGoonlineandgetthemostrecentinstallation
updates.
•Manuallychoosethenetworksettingsasfollows:Ifyouselectthisoption,youwillneedtotype
thecorrespondinginformationintheDefaultGatewayandIPAddresselds.
Note:AmessageAnetworkadapterwasnotfoundmightbedisplayedindicatingthatyoudonothavea
networkadapterdevicedriverinstalled.Toinstallthedevicedriver,clickOpenDeviceManagerto
installdrivers.Afterthedevicedriverisinstalled,theserverwillrestartandtheinstallationprocess
willcontinue.
11.ClickNext.
12.IntheCompanyinformationwindow,provideyourbusinessinformationifnecessary.
13.Personalizeyourserverandyournetworkbytypingtheservernameandinternaldomainname,and
thenclickNext.
14.Addanetworkadministratoraccountbytypinganameandapassword,andthenclickNext.Awindow
opens,displayingyoursettings.
