ToinstalltheRAID510iupgradekey,dothefollowing:
Attention:InstallingtheRAID510iupgradekeymightimpactyourRAIDconfigurations.Backupyourdata
beforeyoubegintoavoidanydatalossduetoaRAIDconfigurationchange.
1.Removeallexternalmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,
disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedto
theserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaflat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.If
theserverisintowerformfactor,laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage70.
4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheRAID510iupgradekeytoanyunpaintedsurface
ontheoutsideoftheserver.Then,taketheRAID510iupgradekeyoutofthepackage.
5.LocatetheLenovoThinkServerRAID510iAnyRAIDAdapter.See“Servercomponents”onpage26.
6.LocatetheconnectorfortheRAID510iupgradekeyontheLenovoThinkServerRAID510iAnyRAID
Adapter.Then,inserttheRAID510iupgradekeyintotheconnector.EnsurethattheRAID510iupgrade
keyissecurelyseatedontheAnyRAIDadapter.
