Toinstallorreplaceaninternaltapedrive,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallexternalmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,
disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedto
theserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaflat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage70.
4.Dependingonwhetheryouareinstallingorreplacingatapedrive,dooneofthefollowing:
•Ifyouareinstallingatapedrive,pushtheprotectiveshieldasshownuntilitisprojectedfromthe
frontofthechassis.Then,holdtheprotectiveshieldfromthefrontandcompletelyslideitoutof
thechassis.
