1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetastherststartup

displayed.Then,theWindowssetupinitializationbegins.

4.ClickInstallnow.
5.ClickIacceptthelicensetermsandthenclickNext.
6.SelectCustom(Advanced).
7.Whenallharddiskdrivesavailableontheserveraredisplayed,dooneofthefollowingtoselector
createadrivepartitiononwhichtoinstalltheoperatingsystem:
•Createapartitionautomatically:Ifyouwanttousetheentireharddiskdriveasoneprimarypartition,
highlightDisk0unallocatedspacefortheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperating
system,andthenclickNext.Afterthesetupprocesscompletes,apartitionisautomaticallycreated.
•Manuallycreateapartition:Ifyouwanttocreateanewpartitionmanually,dothefollowing:
a.HighlightDisk0unallocatedspacefortheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstallthe
operatingsystem,clickDriveroptions(advanced),andthenclickNew.
b.Typetheamountofspace(inMB),andthenclickApply.
c.ClickNext.
Theselectedpartitionwillbeformattedandtheapplicableleswillbecopiedtothedrivepartition.This
processwilltakeseveralminutes.Afterthat,theserverwillrestart.
Note:Amessage“Nodriveswerefound”mightbedisplayedindicatingthatyoudonothaveamass
storagedevicedriverinstalled.Toinstallamassstoragedevicedriver,connecttheUSBstoragedevice
containingtheRAIDcontrollerdrivertoyourserver,andthenselectLoadDriver.
8.Theinstallationprocesswillcontinueaftertheserverrestarts.
9.IntheInstallWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011Standardwindow,selectasetupmodeandthen
clickNext.
•CleanInstall:SelectthisoptionifyoudonothaveanexistingWindowsdomain.AWindowsdomain
isalogicalgroupofcomputersrunningversionsoftheMicrosoftWindowsoperatingsystemthat
shareacentraldirectorydatabase.SelectthisoptiontosetupafullnewinstallationoftheWindows
SmallBusinessServer2011Standardoperatingsystem.
•ServerMigration:SelectthisoptionifyouwanttoaddthisservertoanexistingWindowsdomain,
andtheninstalltheserverapplications.Ifyouselectthisoption,youcanhaveonlyoneserverthat
isrunningtheWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011operatingsystemonyournetwork,andthat
servermustbeadomaincontrollerofthenetwork.
10.VerifytheclockandtimezonesettingsbyclickingOpenDateandTimetoverifytheclockandtime
zonesettingsandthensetyourdateandtime.
11.ClickNext.
12.Selectoneofthefollowingmethodsforyourservernetworkconguration:
•Automaticallydetectthenetworksettings:Thisoptionenablesyourservertoautomaticallydetect
