9.1 Im portant notes
Hazardous voltage on the power connections even when disconnected
from mains: residual voltage >60 V!
Before w orking on the power connections, always disconnect the drive
com ponent from the mains and w ait until the m otor is at standstill.
Verify safe isolation from supply!

Repair w ork or replacem ent of defective safety encoders must only be
carried out by Lenze service personnel!
Shaft sealing rings and roller bearings have a lim ited service life.
Regrease bearings w ith relubricating devices w hile the low-voltage machine is running.
O nly use the grease recom mended by the manufacturer. If the grease drain holes are
sealed w ith a plug, (IP54 drive end; IP23 drive and non-drive end), rem ove plug before
com m issioning. Seal bore holes w ith grease.

9.2 M aintenance intervals
Inspections
If the m achine is exposed to dirt, clean the air channels regularly.
9.2.1 M otor
O nly the bearings and shaft sealing rings become worn.
- Check bearings for noise (after approx. 15,000 h at the latest).
In order to prevent overheating, remove dirt deposits on the drives regularly.
W e recom mend carrying out an inspection after the first 50 operating hours. In
this w ay, you can detect and correct any irregularities or faults at an early stage.
9.2.2 Safety encoder
After a service life of 10 years, an inspection of the metal elastom er torque plate is
required for the encoders AS1024-8V-K and AM 1024-8V-K. If no replacem ent is
required, an inspection interval of m ax. 5 years has to be observed.
