Shift ranges and their functions
Automatically selects a gear between “1” and “8” according
to vehicle speed and driving conditions. (The gear is limited
according to the selected shift range.)
You can choose from 8 levels of engine braking force.
To increase engine braking force, select a lower shift range
number.
Shift range selection in the “D” position will be deactivated in
the following situations:
• When the vehicle comes to a stop
• If the accelerator pedal is depressed for more than a certain
period of time in “6”, “7” or “8” without changing the shift
range
