Operation of each component

■ If the back door opener is inoperative
The back door can be operated from the inside.
■ Jam protection function (vehicles with power back door)
If anything obstructs the power back door while it is closing/opening, the back door will
automatically operate in the opposite direction.
■ When re-connecting the battery (vehicles with power back door)
To enable the power back door to operate properly, perform the following:
● Unlock the back door using the door lock switch
● Close the back door manually
■ Back door closer (vehicles with power back door)
In the event that the upper and lower back doors are left slightly open, the back door
closer will automatically close them to the fully closed position.
■ Fall-down protection function (vehicles with power back door)
While the power back door is opening automatically, applying excessive force to it will
stop the opening operation to prevent the power back door from rapidly falling down.
Remove the cover on the back door trim.
Use a cloth to prevent scratches.
Remove the screw and cover. (Vehicle with-
out power back door)
Push the lever for the back door motor, open
the back door.
