Why my LG 32LY770M TV remote doesn't work?

  If your LG TV remote is not working, there might be several reasons. Ensure the remote is in TV Mode by using the MODE key. Point the remote directly at the IR receiver on the TV, and make sure you are close enough and there are no obstructions. Replace the batteries, ensuring they are correctly inserted with the right polarity (+ and -). Dim the room light, as too much light can interfere with the signal. If applicable, connect the MPI cable to the MPI device. Finally, ensure the remote's IR codes match the TV's settings and that the Installer Remote is compatible; contact your LG representative if needed.

  If your LG TV has no picture, first, ensure the TV is turned ON. Check that the antenna or cable is correctly connected to the TV. Verify all connections to the TV are correct. If applicable, connect the MPI cable to the MPI device. If the program is encrypted, try another channel. Finally, adjust the Installer Menu settings if the tuning band is incorrect.

  If your LG TV has a normal picture but poor or no sound, first try a different channel to rule out a broadcast problem. Ensure the audio is not muted by pressing the MUTE button or using the Volume Up key. Check that Installer Menu items 020 FEATURE LEVEL and 027 HOSPITAL MODE are set as required. Also, if applicable, select TV Speaker in the Audio Menu.

  If no channels are present on your LG TV after running the Express Script, it is likely that Auto Tuning was not run. Refer to the Express Script procedure to run Auto Tuning, which is necessary to populate the channel lineup. To reactivate the Express Script, restore the TV to a factory default condition.

  If your LG TV displays a Communication Error (“Communications Timeout”), check that all communication cables are properly connected. Ensure the TV power cord is connected and the TV is turned ON, as it needs to be ON (default setting of Installer Menu item 118 POWER SAVINGS). In the FTG Device Configuration Application, verify that you have selected the correct COM port for the cable being used.

  If you cannot directly enter a channel number on your LG TV, it may be because the TV is in Pass-through Mode and Installer Menu item 028 CH. OVERIDE is set to 0, or Channel Access was denied in Express Script. Set 028 CH. OVERIDE to 1 to allow direct keypad entry. Alternatively, if the TV is in FTG Mode, the channel entered may not be in the FTG Channel Map. Modify the FTG Channel Map using the FTG File Manager or the FTG Device Configuration Application.

  If a channel found during Auto Tuning on your LG TV does not tune in with the Channel Up/Down buttons, it may have been deleted in the currently selected channel bank. If banks were set up, premium channels may only be available on another channel bank. Select the channel bank where the channel is set to NORMAL-ADDED. Or, directly enter the channel number, then go to Channel Preview/ Banks Setup Menu and select “NORMAL-ADDED.”

  If you cannot change the channel status in the menu of your LG TV, it is likely because Channel Access was denied in Express Script. Set CH. OVERIDE to 1 to allow access for channel status change. Remember to reset item 028 back to 0 when you are finished with channel banks setup.

  If pressing BANK on the Installer Remote of your LG TV shows the Input List Menu, it means that Installer Menu item 027 HOSPITAL MODE is set to 0. Set item 027 to the appropriate setting for channel banks to appear with CH. BANK key presses.

Why Channel Preview or Banks Setup Menu does not appear on LG TV?

  If the Channel Preview/Banks Setup Menu does not appear on your LG TV, the Express Script may not be completed. The Channel Preview/Banks Setup Menu will not be available until the TV setup is transferred to the PTC. Also, set Installer Menu item 028 CH. OVERIDE to 1 to allow access for channel status changes. If applicable, make sure to reset item 028 back to 0 when you are finished with channel banks setup.
