Usage Features
Control Panel:
The range hood features a control panel with buttons for Power, Light, Wi-Fi Connection, and Speed Selection (Low, Middle, High, Boost).
Operation Modes:
- Power: Turns the appliance on/off. When turned on, the motor runs at low speed, and LED lamps are on.
- Light: Controls the LED lighting. Pressing once turns on the light, pressing again turns it off.
- Wi-Fi Connection: Connects the appliance to the LG ThinQ application. Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate Wi-Fi.
- Speed Selection: Allows selection of three speed modes: Low, Middle, and High.
- Boost Function: A booster function (boost speed mode) can be activated to increase suction power for 7 minutes, after which it automatically reverts to high speed.
Smart Functions (LG ThinQ Application):
- Wi-Fi Connectivity: The appliance can be connected to the LG ThinQ application via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz networks only).
- Induction Pairing: Allows selection of which range hood to work with an LG induction cooktop.
- Monitoring: Provides information on the product's operation status and speed mode.
- Remote Control: Enables control of the speed mode from a smartphone.
- Installation: The LG ThinQ app can be installed from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Users can connect their appliance by scanning a QR code (if available) or by following in-app instructions.
Safety Precautions during Operation:
- Never use the range hood for purposes other than domestic kitchen ventilation.
- Avoid leaving high naked flames under the range hood.
- Adjust flame intensity to direct it onto the bottom of the pan only.
- Continuously monitor deep fat fryers.
- Do not flambé under the range hood due to fire risk from grease deposits.
- Ensure adequate room ventilation when using the range hood simultaneously with other fuel-burning appliances.
- Accessible parts may become hot; avoid touching them and keep children at a safe distance.
- Never leave hot fat or oil unattended; do not use water to extinguish burning oil or fat.
- Always use cookware on gas burners; operating them empty can cause excessive heat and damage the range hood.
- Avoid operating multiple gas burners on the highest flame for longer than 15 minutes.
- Do not look directly into switched-on LED lights for extended periods.
- Never operate the appliance without a grease filter.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning and Replacing Filters:
- Grease Filters: These metal filters collect fatty deposits and must be cleaned regularly to prevent fire hazards.
- Cleaning: Remove filters, soak in hot soapy water, clean with a brush, rinse thoroughly, and allow to drain.
- Frequency: Clean and/or replace filters after the specified time period.
- Caution: Do not squeeze grease filters as they may become damaged.
- Activated Charcoal Filters (Recirculation Version): These filters are not washable or regenerable and must be replaced approximately every 4 months, or more frequently with heavy usage.
- Replacement: Remove grease filters, then remove the saturated charcoal filters by turning counter-clockwise. Fit new filters by applying one on each side to cover the shield grids of the motor impeller, then turning clockwise.
Cleaning the Appliance:
- Control Panel: Clean with a damp sponge cloth and hot soapy water, then dry with a soft cloth. Observe cleaning agent manufacturer's instructions.
- Stainless Steel Surfaces: Clean in the direction of the finish using a sponge cloth and hot soapy water. For stubborn dirt, clean with hot water and non-corrosive detergent every two months.
- General: Do not use corrosive detergents. Regular maintenance ensures proper function.
General Maintenance Guidelines:
- Always switch off or unplug the appliance from the mains supply before any maintenance work.
- Do not repair or replace any part unless specifically recommended in the manual; all other servicing should be done by a qualified technician.
- Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
- If the supply cord or plug is damaged, contact an LG Electronics Customer Information Centre.
- If there is any fault with the appliance, contact an LG Electronics Customer Information Centre.
Replacing the Light (LED):
