SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always follow safety instructions to prevent accidents and potential hazards from occurring.
In this manual, safety messages are classified as follows:
WARNING
CAUTION
Throughout this manual we use the following two illustrations to make you aware of safety considerations:
Identifies potential hazards under certain conditions.
Read the message and follow the instructions carefully.
Identifies shock hazards under certain conditions.
Particular attention should be directed because dangerous voltage may be present.
Keep operating instructions handy for quick reference.
Read this manual carefully to maximize the performance of SV-iC5 series inverter and ensure its safe use.
WARNING
Do not remove the cover while power is applied or the unit is in operation.
Otherwise, electric shock could occur.
Do not run the inverter with the front cover removed.
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock due to high voltage terminals or charged capacitor
exposure.
Do not remove the cover except for periodic inspections or wiring, even if
the input power is not applied.
Otherwise, you may access the charged circuits and get an electric shock.
Wiring and periodic inspections should be performed at least 10 minutes
after disconnecting the input power and after checking the DC link voltage
is discharged with a meter (below DC 30V).
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock.
Operate the switches with dry hands.
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock.
Do not use the cable when its insulating tube is damaged.
Otherwise, you may get an electric shock.
Do not subject the cables to scratches, excessive stress, heavy loads or
Improper operation may result in slight to medium personal injury
or property damage.
Improper operation may result in serious personal injury or death.

What to do if my LG Inverter shows an overcurrent?
    • R
      Ronnie HarperAug 15, 2025
If your LG Inverter displays an overcurrent error, it could be due to several reasons. The acceleration/deceleration time might be too short for the load's GD2; in this case, increase the acceleration/deceleration time. The load might be exceeding the inverter's rating, requiring you to replace the inverter with one of appropriate capacity. If the inverter output is activated while the motor is free running, stop the motor before resuming operation, or utilize the H22 (Speed search) function in Function group 2. Check for any output short circuits or ground faults in the wiring. Lastly, verify the mechanical brake of the motor isn't operating too quickly.

Why is my LG Inverter overheating?
    • R
      Robert GreenAug 18, 2025
An LG Inverter might overheat due to several reasons: a faulty cooling system, which can be resolved by checking for obstructions in the heat sink; an old cooling fan that needs replacement; or an ambient temperature that's too high, which requires keeping the ambient temperature under 40°C.

What causes an LG SV-iC5 Inverter overload?
    • S
      Suzanne OrtegaAug 22, 2025
An LG Inverter can overload if the load exceeds the inverter's rating, so upgrade the capacity of the motor and inverter or reduce the load weight. Also, the inverter capacity might be incorrectly selected, so ensure you select the correct inverter capacity. Finally, a torque boost scale set too high can cause this; reduce the torque boost scale.

How to fix ground fault current in LG Inverter?
    • K
      Kenneth RojasAug 26, 2025
A ground fault current in your LG Inverter can occur if there's a ground fault in the output wiring. Check the wiring of the output terminal. Another cause could be damaged motor insulation due to heat, in which case you should replace the motor.

What to do if my LG SV-iC5 Inverter has an output phase loss?
    • K
      Kelly SellersAug 28, 2025
If your LG Inverter experiences an output phase loss, it could be due to a faulty contact of the magnetic switch at the output. Ensure the connection of the magnetic switch at the inverter's output is secure. It may also be caused by faulty output wiring, so check the output wiring.

Why does my LG SV-iC5 show an over voltage error?
    • R
      Richard MoodySep 1, 2025
An over voltage error on your LG Inverter can occur if the deceleration time is too short compared to the GD2 of the load; increase the deceleration time. It can also happen if there's a regenerative load at the inverter output, in which case you should use a Dynamic Brake Unit. Finally, it may be due to a line voltage that's too high; check whether the line voltage exceeds its rating.

How to resolve a cooling fan fault on my LG SV-iC5 Inverter?
    • S
      Sean FischerSep 4, 2025
A cooling fan fault in your LG Inverter could stem from an obstruction in the ventilating slot. Check the ventilating slot and remove any clogged substances. It could also be that the inverter has been in use for a long time without replacing the cooling fan, so replace the cooling fan.

What causes low voltage in LG SV-iC5 and how to fix it?
    • D
      Donna DoughertySep 7, 2025
Low voltage in your LG Inverter can be caused by several factors. The line voltage may be too low, so check whether the line voltage is below its rating. A load larger than the line capacity connected to the line, such as a welding machine or motor with high starting current connected to the commercial line, can also cause this. Check the incoming AC line and adjust the line capacity corresponding to the load. Lastly, a faulty magnetic switch at the input side of the inverter can be the culprit; change the magnetic switch.

What does electronic thermal mean on my LG SV-iC5?
    • J
      Joshua BaileySep 12, 2025
Electronic thermal issues on your LG Inverter indicate that the motor has overheated, reduce load weight and operating duty. The load might be greater than the inverter rating, replace the inverter with higher capacity. The ETH level might be set too low, adjust ETH level to an appropriate level. The inverter capacity may be incorrectly selected, select correct inverter capacity. The inverter might have been operated at low speed for too long, install a cooling fan with a separate power supply.
