Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for extending the appliance's service life and ensuring optimal performance.
After Every Wash:
- General Cleaning: Use a warm or hot wash periodically (e.g., every 5th wash) to prevent residue buildup, especially if cold water is primarily used.
- Power Disconnection: Always unplug the power cord after use and turn off water taps to relieve pressure and prevent leaks.
- Drum and Door: Wipe the door and inside of the drum to remove moisture and prevent bad smells or mildew.
- Bleach Dispenser: Clean around the bleach dispenser with water to flush residual bleach, which can be corrosive if left undiluted.
- Door Open: Leave the door open to dry the drum interior, but only if safe and children are supervised.
Periodical Cleaning:
- Dispenser Drawer: Remove and clean the drawer and inserts once or twice a month to prevent detergent buildup.
- Tub Clean: Run this special function once a month (or more often if needed) to reduce detergent, softener, and other residue buildup. The appliance will display an "Ecl" message as a reminder. If a bad smell or mildew is present, run Tub Clean once a week for three weeks.
- Water Inlet Filter: Regularly clean the water inlet filter to remove lime or small objects from the water supply. This involves turning off the power and water tap, unscrewing the inlet hose, removing the filter with pliers, and cleaning it with a toothbrush.
- Lint Filter: Regularly clean the lint filter (after at least 2-3 washes) to ensure efficient washing performance. This involves pushing down release tabs, pulling the cover forward, opening the lid, removing lint, washing the filter, and reinserting it correctly.
Safety Warnings for Maintenance:
- Always unplug the appliance before cleaning to avoid electric shock.
- Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents.
- Do not add detergent to the dispenser drawer during the Tub Clean function to avoid excessive suds and property damage.
- Be careful when handling the lint filter to avoid injury.
- Do not operate the appliance with lint filters removed or if the mesh hole is clogged.
- Do not leave iron objects in the lint filter as they promote rust.
