Why is the heart rate reading erratic on my Life Fitness INTEGRITY PLUS UPRIGHT LIFECYCLE?

If you're experiencing erratic or absent heart rate readings on your Life Fitness Exercise Bike, first ensure that the belt transmitter electrodes are sufficiently wet. If that doesn't resolve the issue, check that the electrodes are lying flat against your skin. Try washing the belt transmitter with mild soap and water. Also, the initial setup of the belt transmitter is accomplished by bringing it within 1 foot of the receiver (in the console) until the heart rate is displayed, then extend the range to 3 feet. If the problem persists, the chest strap battery may be depleted, and you should contact Customer Support Services for replacement instructions.
