  First, make sure the weld output is turned ON; a green icon with “Output ON” should be visible in the upper right corner of the screen. Also, check that the work connection is secure and attached to clean base metal. Another potential cause is exceeding the machine's duty cycle, leading to overheating. If this happens, let the machine cool down, then inspect the alternator brushes and check the voltage feedback wiring to the PC board. A faulty PC board could also be the reason.
