What to do if the internet appears to be unavailable on my Linksys E8450 Wireless Router?
    • D
      David RobinsonJul 28, 2025
If the internet appears to be unavailable, ensure that the network and power cables are securely connected and that the power outlet your router is connected to has power. You can also try rebooting your router, turning it off and then back on again. Alternatively, disconnect the power cord from both the router and the modem, wait 10 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord to the modem (ensuring it has power). Wait until the modem's online indicator stops blinking (about two minutes), then reconnect the power cord to the router. Wait until the blue Power and Internet lights on the front of the router are solid (about two minutes), then try connecting to the internet from a computer.

      Jade JohnsonAug 8, 2025
If your Linksys Wireless Router was not successfully set up, press and hold the Reset button on your router with a paperclip or pin until the power light turns off and starts blinking (about 10 seconds). Then, type 192.168.1.1 in a browser to try the setup again. You can also temporarily disable your computer’s firewall and try installing the router again. If the problem persists, use another computer to install the router.

How to fix 'Your Internet cable is not plugged in' message on Linksys Wireless Router?
    • P
      Patricia HamiltonAug 16, 2025
If you receive an 'Your Internet cable is not plugged in' message, ensure an ethernet or internet cable (or a similar cable supplied with your router) is securely connected to the yellow Internet port on the back of the router and to the appropriate Ethernet port on your modem. Also, make sure your modem is connected to power and turned on. If your internet service is cable, verify the cable modem’s CABLE port is connected to the coaxial cable provided by your ISP. If your internet service is DSL, ensure the DSL phone line is connected to the modem’s DSL port. If your computer was previously connected to your modem with a USB cable, disconnect the USB cable. If the issue persists, try reinstalling the router.
