12E Series Euent Pump
OWNER'S MANUAL
English
EN
This submersible pump is designed for use in basins or pumping stations and is suitable for pumping clean
water or effluent gray water with up to 3/4" (19 mm) spherical semi-solids. Do not use the pump in appli-
cations where sewage or any other debris (gravel, sand, floating debris, etc.), abrasives, or corrosives are
present.
The pump motor is equipped with an automatic restart thermal protector and
may restart unexpectedly. Activation of the thermal protector indicates that the
motor is overloaded or overheated, which may be due to application problems,
such as a clogged pump impeller, a switch stuck in the on position, a dry running
of the pump, a air-sealed pump, a short pump cycle, an excessively high or low
voltage supply, or a pump, motor, bearings, or seal that may have reached the
end of its useful life.
This product is covered by a Limited Warranty for a period of 36 months from the
date of original purchase by the consumer. For complete warranty information,

Risk of death, personal injury, or property damage due to explosion,
fire, or electric shock.
Do not use to pump flammable, combustible, or explosive fluids such as gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene, etc.
Do not use in explosive atmospheres or hazardous locations as classified by the NEC, ANSI/NFPA70.
Do not handle a pump or pump motor with wet hands or when standing on a wet or damp surface, or in water.
When a pump is in its application, do not touch the motor, pipes, or water until the unit is unplugged or electri-
cally disconnected.
If the power disconnect is out of sight, lock it in the open position and tag it to prevent unexpected application of
power.
If the disconnect panel is not accessible, contact the electric company to stop service.

What to do if Little Giant 12E runs but does not discharge liquid?
    • R
      racheljenkinsJul 29, 2025
If your Little Giant Water Pump is running but not discharging liquid, there might be several reasons. First, the check valve might be installed backward; ensure the flow indicating arrow on the check valve body indicates proper installation. The check valve could also be stuck or plugged, so remove it and inspect its operation. Other potential issues include the lift being too high for the pump (check the rated pump performance), the inlet to the impeller being plugged (pull the pump and clean it), or the pump being air locked (remove the pump and clean the air bleed hole).

Why Little Giant Water Pump does not turn on?
    • E
      edwingillAug 4, 2025
If your Little Giant Water Pump doesn't turn on, there are several potential causes. Ensure the pump is properly plugged in. Check the circuit breaker to see if it's off, and turn it on, or replace the fuse if it's removed. Also, verify that there isn't an accumulation of trash on the float; if there is, clean it. Furthermore, check for any obstructions in the float path and provide clearance. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the switch or motor might be defective, requiring you to replace the switch or the entire pump.

What to do if Little Giant 12E Water Pump will not shut off?
    • M
      mackstevenAug 9, 2025
If your Little Giant Water Pump will not shut off, it could be due to a few reasons. The float or float rod might be obstructed, so check their path and provide clearance. The pump could also be air locked; remove the pump and clean the air bleed hole. If the liquid inflow matches the pump capacity, a larger pump may be required. Lastly, a defective switch could be the cause, necessitating a replacement.

How to troubleshoot Little Giant Water Pump not delivering rated capacity?
    • D
      Danielle HicksAug 16, 2025
If your Little Giant Water Pump does not deliver its rated capacity, several factors could be responsible. The lift might be too high for the pump, so check the rated pump performance. Low voltage could be causing the speed to be too slow; ensure the supply voltage matches the nameplate rating. A clogged impeller or discharge pipe could also be the issue; pull the pump and clean it, and check the pipe for scale or corrosion. Finally, impeller wear due to abrasives could be the cause, which would necessitate replacing the pump.

Why Little Giant 12E cycles continuously?
    • G
      greenenormaAug 22, 2025
If your Little Giant Water Pump cycles continuously, several factors could be the cause. A missing check valve in a long discharge pipe might be allowing liquid to drain back into the basin; in this case, install a check valve in the discharge line. A leaking check valve could also be the problem; inspect it for correct operation. Alternatively, the basin might be too small for the inflow; consider installing a larger basin.
